Requiring LEO to have same trauma response training SANE and Advocate's are required to have for victim-centered response to sexual assault victims.
Beneficial because
Prevents victim-blaming (Walton & Palmer, 2014; Campbell, 2006)
Allows for the survivor and LEO to connect (Lonsway & Archambault, 2013)
If survivors feel comfortable with LE, more likely to report (Sampson, 2017; Lakewood Police, 2017; Rich & Seffrin, 2012, 2013; Lonsway et al., 2001, Lonsway & Archambault, 2013; Campbell, 2006)
Further connects advocacy program response with LE
Assist in reports being victim-centered, potentially aiding prosecution ability
