Summative
These assessments evaluate student learning at the end of a course to measure growth and see if goals have been met.

These types of assessments are administered throughout the year that give immediate feedback on how students are meeting academic standards.

Diagnostic
These assessments allows a teacher to assess the strengths, weaknesses, knowledge and skills before instruction to diagnose student difficulties and guide the lesson

Assessment Data. Based on this data, the teacher was able to identify an area of weakness at the beginning of the school year and have intervention strategies to help students practice the skill. At the end of the year, the teacher assessed the students to see the growth they made on that area.

Assessments are helpful because they help teachers improve instruction so that students can learn and policymakers evaluate the success of education programs.
We used this data to do small group interventions. We do informal assessments such as observations, and formal assessments such as practice test.
