Rituals
One ritual that Confucianism follows is when a child is born to the family, by the end of the month, the family will throw a party for the extended family and friends to announce and celebrate the arrival of the new family member.
Another ritual is that Confucians promote ancestor worship by burning paper money and offering food to respect the lives of the dead on April fifth.
Another ritual that confucians follow is when someone turns fifteen years of age, they have to dress differently because they reach yound adulthood.
Values
Here are a few core values for Confucianism.
One is called Jen. Jen prioritizes Human Heartedness, goodness, benevolence, dignity for the human life, and lastly, characteristics that make humans, humans (something that makes them what they are, human).
Confucious belived that there were five relationships that people should follow the rules of. The lower should owe respect and obediance to the person that is above them.
Ruler and Subject. A subject should show respect and obedience to the Ruler, and the ruler should set a good example for the subject.
Parent and Child. A child should show respect and obedience to the Parent, and the parent should set a good example for the child.
Husband and Wife. Wives shhould show respect and obedience to their husband, and the huband was expected to set a good example for their wife.
Old and Young. A yound person should show respect and obedience to the old, and the old should set a good example for the young.
Friend and Friend . Friend owed respect and obedience to each other.
