Assessment Data
Teachers can use different types of assessments and the data they provide to help identify students that may need more help. Here are my three students that may need more help in reading.
Student 2:
Lexile Level:340
Fountas and Pinnell Level: O
Last Benchmark Score: 37%
Strategies:
- This student struggles with fluency. When in small group guided reading, use different voices when rereading a text (such as a cube that you roll and have different voices for)
- Short mini lesson on reading with fluency and voice. Have student read aloud with a partner.
Student 3:
Lexile Level: 445
Fountas and Pinnell Level: L
Last Benchmark Score: 39%
Strategies:
- This student struggles with fluency and comprehension. to help her, try putting her with similarly leveled students at small group to work on different types of reading and practice comprehension questions.
- To help with fluency have short passages that student can read once with regular practice and then with different voices and inflections for practice.
Student 1:
Lexile Level: 570
Fountas and Pinnell Level: O
Last Benchmark Score: 29%
Strategies:
- Work in small group guided reading.
- Reading with student shows that they need to work on comprehension: during small group instruction, ask questions which will guide student to think critically about text
