Individual Gas Laws
Avogadro's Law states that equal volumes of all ideal gases (at the same temperature and pressure) contain the same number of molecules.
-
Boyle's Law states that equal pressure is inversely proportional to volume (when temperature is constant).
-
Charles's Law states that volume is proportional to temperature (when pressure is constant). Remember that temperature must be measured in Kelvin.

Half Life
Formula: ln(Nt/N0) = -kt
Nt = mass of radioactive material at time interval (t)
N0 = mass of the original amount of radioactive material
k = decay constant
t = time interval (t1/2 for the half-life)

Le Chatelier's Principle
If pressure is added, reaction goes towards the side with lower number of moles
-
If temp is increased, Reaction goes towards the side where energy is not being released
If substances is added, reaction goes away from that substances
-
Acids and Bases
-
Salts
- Spilt the compound into cation and anion
- Set up equation for each ion, ion + water
- Solve for Ka or Kb, depending on the products formed
