45-year-old Singaporean man presents to the GP with lethargy for the last few months, FBC => anemia
Koilonychia => Iron-deficiency anemia. Other sx: pallor; dyspnea; glossitis; thinning hair; systolic flow murmur
Blood loss => GI malignancy possible, acute GI bleeding. Hx: chronic blood loss e.g. melena; hematuria; hemoptysis; frequent blood donation; hematemesis; abdominal pain. Other sx: hypotension; pallor; tachycardia; ascites; hepatomegaly/splenomegaly; caput medusae.
