DIFFERENT HOMES

Igloo-Indians live in igloo during the coldest winter when the ground was covered with deep snow.

Adobe further east the pueblo Indians used rich baked clay to build strong square houses

Wigwams-built in the driest areas. Were made from bundles of dried grass and brushwood. Called 'wiclieups'

Tepees-made from animal skins were constructed by the plains Indians while those living in the subarctic used tree bark.

Long house -made from wood, they erected tall, colorful painted, totem poles.
