Strategy 1: Practice "Close Reading" of texts (reading a text multiple times over several days) to boost comprehension and understanding of the text features. Each reading will highlight and focus of different aspects of the text.
Strategy 2: Focus of studying various texts from the genres the students struggle with the most, e.g. Expository texts. Students will read and discuss many different expository texts, evaluate the text structures, and define the various features of the text.
