If we know that there are 20 noses in our class, what else do we know there are 20 of?

Benefits of assessments
Through assessments, students are able to show their teachers, school, parents, and themselves what they have learned.
Through assessments, teachers are able to gain data as to where their students are and adjust instruction based on the students needs from the data.
Performance
A performance assessment is a task based assessment that is meaningful and relevant to the student. It also tells the teacher what type of knowledge and skills the student has learned.

-
Diagnostic
A diagnostic assessment measures the students knowledge about a topic before the lesson takes place (pre-assessment). This allows for the teachers to know the students prior knowledge and misconceptions about the topic.

Assessment Data
RTI data: iStation
Antonio (190)
Antonio struggles with vocabulary on iStation, so at the beginning of my lessons I focus on introducing vocabulary and review it throughout. Students should be using the vocabulary throughout the lesson. I will point out if an object that has another name such as a glass and a cup or a book bag and a backpack.
Antonio does really well in small group. He is a competitive little boy and enjoys hands on manipulatives. These help him see what is being asked of him and help him show his thinking.
Farzad (189)
Another strategy to help Farzad is giving him more time to answer or practice a skill before building on or moving onto a new skill. He needs to master this skill first.

Regont (188)
Regont needs more practice as well, so a small group is a great strategy for him while he gets more practice.
I have also seen that he responds well to graphic organizers such as anchor charts. It helps him when he can see the information organized somewhere to go back to. It also helps him if he is apart of making them.
