Organized around Families
In the town square, families stand together in groups, and every family member must be present. Once a family is chosen, the second round begins. In this round, each family member, no matter how old or young, must draw a slip of paper. This process reinforces the importance of the family structure within the town.
“There were the lists to make up--of heads of families, heads of households in each family, members of each household in each family.”
