Instructional Approaches
Information Processing
The type of the student that would be successful with this approach would be a student who is an active learner.
The type of student who would not be successful with this approach would be younger students because they cannot pay attention to long
One part of this technique that I would use in my teaching would be the organization of the material I think it is important to be organized with your material
-
Advantages: students can learn better with this strategy cause they are have to go back and think of other things they have learned.
I like this approach it is very interesting, so I would use all the parts. there is no parts that I would not use
Behaviorism
The type of students this approach would be successful with would be Elementary and middle school aged students because they would be more motivated by "prizes" or reinforcements
The types of students this would approach would not benefit from is higher level like high school or college because they are not really motivated by reinforcements
Disadvantages: some disadvantages that for this type of approach would be implementing schedules of reinforcements
A part of this technique that I would use would be the getting to know the students and their behaviors because it is always good to know what type of behaviors you sill have in your classroom
Advantages: some advantages to this strategy you get to know your students better because you would need to learn their behaviors
A part of this approach that I would not use would be planned reinforcers because if you have them planned then the students will expect it every time
Constructivism
the type of students that would benefit from this approach would be social learners because with this approach there are a lot opportunities for socialization
A type of learner that would not benefit from this approach would be an intrapersonal learner because they work better by themselves and with this approach there is not a lot of independent work
-
A part of this approach that I would use would be the group activities because the kids can learn from each other and they can bounce ideas of each other
Advantages: some advantages to constructivism is that it promotes creativity because the studnts are able to say what they think
I would use all aspects of this approach because I think it uses the ideas of all the different strategies so I would not have a part that I could not use
Humanism
I think this approach would be successful with almost everybody because it is more about the students
I think this approach would be beneficial to everybody I do not believe one students would not like this if it it carried out correctly
Disadvantages: the disadvantages of this approach would be that it is centered around experience and not all kids have the same experiences
The part of this approach that I would use in my classroom is the students having a process of learning a new task using steps can be helpful to a lot fo students
