Addiction to Drug's and alcohol are becoming becoming regularly treated in specialist clinic's for children as young as nine years old in Auckland. The number of children being treated for alcohol and drugs have been raised by 20 percent to 382 last year.

New Zealand has the worst rate of family violence int he world. It costs New Zealand 7 billion dollars a year. NZ police have attended 105,000 last year. They took a all for help every five minutes. that's 279 a day. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11634501

Child abuse and neglect can happen to anyone in any status in society. Most people gamble because they feel that they have to, to be able to get their families out of poverty and catch a lucky break because everything else that they've tried hasn't worked.

Addiction is caused by people/children being in a hard family environment and felling like they have no way to express their feeling so they just jump into alcohol and drugs

Family violence is caused by people in the family being stressed out due to work or lack of work and insecurities about the faithfulness of their partner

Most people abuse their children because they fell the need to take out their problems outside of their family life on them

The people that bear the impact of addiction are the addict, when they want to stop but they don't know how, and the family of the addict because the addict might be in dept and the addict will be asking for money that he can't repay and he will be in trouble with their dealer.

The impact this person has on their family that their terrorizing with violence, is that their children will never truly trust them because of all the violence they have showed.

People that are abused carry that pain and hurt for the rest of their lives and won't be able to trust anyone fully because of all the deceit that they have had all through their life.

People who gamble impact their family by putting pressure on the family to earn more so that they can go gamble it all away again and not giving their children things they need.

I know that all of these issues that I have talked about, are all part of a person's/family's well being and how, if they aren't helped, they can and will be in serious trouble.

I want to know if the community, public, and the government are doing everything they can to help these people in need.
