Soft drinks and junk food such as chips are commonly sold in vending machines in TP
due to the convenience, students will buy these unhealthy foods often
Lack of 'healthier choices' labels on food
students will keep consuming unhealthy food without the option of eating healthier foods

Some fast food restaurants resort into unethical techniques by marketing their unhealthy product as if they are healthy food.
Hence student may think consuming these foods at fast food restaurant is healthy

Not all the food courts sell fruits in TP (eg. Flavours Food & Beverages)
Western food stalls can be found in most of the food court in TP canteen, selling food like burgers and fries etc as compared to noodles stalls
Fast food restaurants and convenience stores available
McDonald's was set up in TP hence, students prefer to eat McDonald's because of the cheaper price and the food is tastier than canteen food. Students will side more to fast food because its is more filling than canteen food as well

Many students go to CHEERS to purchase cup noodles because it is convenient and not time-consuming as compared to ordering food in the canteen as there is always a long queue.

Fast food companies such as MacDonald tend to provide nutrition information.
Nutrition information provided may not be accurate hence consumers may be misled by fast food companies thinking that it is a healthy choice.
Leading consumer to purchase more fast food due to the inaccurate/false information provided by fast food restaurants.
Technology
Increase in exposure to technology goes hand in hand with a decrease in physical activity
Spending more time on technology such as TV or tablet lead to increased snacking and mindless eating
Technology Interferes with sleep
Lack of physical activity increases weight
Students may lack of health education
