Result of the overthrow
Because of the over throw on Hawaii the united states was able to claim Hawaii as a state. But before this they used the island as a main base for trade routes. And they used the harbor the main military base for naval ships.
The over throw was when the united states decided to take over the Hawaiian kingdom to turn it into a territory(later to become a main military harbor and state .)
When the united states signed the treaty they made Hawaii agree to give the united states pearl harbor. This allowed the united states to use the harbor to control the imports and exports of trade items. While doing this they were able to instigate what the Hawaiians wanted to do.
The king's personal influence over the legislature and legislation was reduced by limiting his government appointments and restricting his veto power. This gave him less power so that he was more vulnerble to atack.
