Romeo & Juliet
-
Romeo is scared of rejection from Juliet Act 2, scene 2
-
Act 3 scene 2- " Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars" (lines 21-22)
Juliet is foreshadowing what will happen to Romeo in the future. She is also showing how much she loves him and wants to be with him.
-
Paris thinks Juliet is sad over Tybalt's death. She is really sad over Romeo, and not being with him.
This is an example that leads to her death by how she thinks that Romeo would be better off without you.
Friar Laurance- Has a plan that Juliet should fake her death (Be asleep), Juliet will be in the family catacombs. Friar Laurance and Romeo will know the plan & get her out when she wakes up. Juliet will drink a potion that will make her look dead.
Juliet's father is so excited to hear she will marry Paris thst he scheduels the wedding for the next day, so Juliet drinks the potion that night which is not to schedule. No one knows about her taking it early
Friar leurance sees that she is dead but forgets that the letter has not come to Romeo. Romeo made a rash decision that ended with his fate.... Death.
"Give me some present counsel; or behold, 'Twixt my extremes and me this bloody knife shall play the umpire," (Act 4 ,scene 1, lines 61-65)
-
Foreshadowing - Scene 5, act 1 lines 132-133 "If he be married, My grave is like to be my wedding bed."
-
The main idea of this drama play is that you should not think before you act, or make rash decisions that could turn into a bad tragic ending.
-
-
Juliet threatens to kill herself to Friar Leurance if she has to marry Paris by saying, "I long to die If what thou Speak'st speak not for remedy."
Friar Leurance then gives her a potion that will make it look like she is dead, but she will be put in the catacombs then Romeo will go down there and save her. (Act 4, Scene 1, 67-68)
-
"...-- O my love, my wife! Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty. Thou art not conquered. Beauty's ensign yet Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, And death's pale flag is not advanced there." Act 5 scene 3 (lines 91-96)
<<< for the example above Romeo notices that she is not white to the skin and is not cold. She's still beautiful and he wants to be with her. He then drinks a poison and kisses her. Then dies.
Friar Leruance is speaking logical ways to do things and peaceful ways to help the citations so everyone is happy.
What also lead to their death was Miscommunication. When Friar leurance told Juliet the plan she didn't follow through with it. Friar leurance told Romeo the plan through mail, but Juliet took the vial early without the mail getting to Romeo.
