New Right Conservatism
The Free Market and Neoliberalism: Markets should be free from government intervention, free from trade union or powerful corporation intervention. Free Markets for everything.
Privatisation of state-owned/run industries like water, gas ect.
Making industry open to competition, and financial markets opened up too.
-
Anti-Unionism: Powerful trade unions are barries to economic success. They prevented labour markets to be flexible, pushed wages up too high and prevented much technological progress.
-
-
-
-
State disengagement from economic management: Economic problems would solve themselves, as long as the government didn't try to manage the economy.
Monetarism was the only justified intervention, controlling the amount of money in circulation to control inflation.
-
Dependancy Culture: Excessively high benefits as a disencentive to work, enterprise and self-reliance.
-
Benefits only for the most needy, and those who can't be self-reliant through no fault of their own.
Neoconservatism: A freer society would create the danger of disorder, and discouraging substatial cultural diversity.
-
Longer, more severe sentences for criminals.
