Lots of agriculture. They were said to be hunter gatherers. They then arrived in a new land. The land was swampy and a marsh but they drained it and made artificial islands. Typical crops include corn, beans, squashes, potatoes, tomatoes, and avocados. They did continue to hunt, They then developed a sophisticated irrigation method. Aztecs had very developed agriculture; they planned and organized their farming. They used the method of chinampa for their crops (using small rectangular areas to grow crops on shallow lake beds). They also used terracing to grow their crops.
