When does life begin?
some say from the moment of fertilization
when the foetus moves from within the womb (quickening)
Some say when the egg is implanted into the wall of the womb
At the moment when the foetus could in principle be born alive and exist independent of the mother (Viability)

Abortion was legalised in the UK in the 1967
The UK allows abortions up to the 24th week of a pregnancy as long as two doctors agree that the abortion meets at least one of the conditions
The conditions are the that the mothers life is at risk
The child is handicapped
The child could risk of health of the carriers other children
The mothers physical and mental heath is at risk
