Look at woman now, and look at where we stand because women, such as Sojourner Truth, decided to stand for us.

The Cultural Context
Truth focused on woman's right with this speech but has always been devoted to making sure that African-American woman was discussed as well

I can't really say that this speech showed the lack of education for the African-American culture because though her language in the text was not completely well-spoken, she was educated for being an African-American woman during this time.
During Sojourner's time, it was not common for African-American's to have an education let alone be able to stand up for an entire population .
