The Human Body
Tissue
-
Muscle Tissue - Contracts, ex: cardiac muscle tissue in the heart.
Epithelial Tissue - Absorption, protection, and moving blood. It lines blood vessels.
Connective Tissue - Connects, supports, and separates organs. Ligaments are an example of this.
Nervous Tissue - Makes up nerves which sense physical stimuli. Examples include brain and spinal cord.
-
Cells
-
-
Stem Cell - A cell that can become any type of cell. They are highly regenerative and can be used for healing.
Organ Systems
-
Homeostasis - The 'perfect' balance. Where the body is sitting at a constant for everything, including temperature. The ideal condition, an organism's body is meant to reach/maintain
Organ Systems will maintain the temperature, energy, and everything else about a body. For example, respiratory system breathes faster to dispel excess carbon dioxide and take in oxygen faster, while the circulatory system disperses said oxygen.
