ACCOMMODATION TYPES
Self-catering accommodation
is a form of accommodation where meals are
not
provided.
Holiday homes
are ideal for families,groups of friends and reunions. Bungalows,cottages,villas and apartments are located in rural or coastal locations.
Youth hostels
are particularly suitable for young people willing to travel, but not to spend. They offer shared, single or double bedrooms, dormitories and guest kitchens where people can cook their own food.
Caravan camping and motor home parks
are situated in natural areas and people travel with their own "mobile homes". They supply electric power, water, bathrooms and showers, laundry service and kitchen.
Religious institutions
offer accommodation at reasonable prices and include breakfast but no meals. Convents and monasteries accept woman,men and families with children. However they have a nightly curfew.
Serviced accommodation
is a form of accommodation where meals are provided.
Hotels
offer formal accommodation and a good number of services and facilities.
Resort hotels
are located in holiday destinations and attract holiday with variety of facilities, such us golf or tennis cuorses and swimming pool.
Holiday villages
are resort hotels that provide a list of services and activities in one single package. Visitors stay in villas or bungalows and there is a central area with shops and restaurants.
Airport hotels
are situated near airports.
Conference hotels
offer large meeting rooms and facilities for events.
Budget hotels
are often roadside hotels and offer basic facilities. Prices are moderate.
Country house hotels
are hotels with grounds or gardens, in a rural or semi-rural location.
Boutique hotels
are small hoteles characterised by elegant and sophisticated design.
City and town hotels
that accommodate tourists and business people for short periods. They are located close to city centres, stations and tourists attractions.
Motels
are hoteles with large car parks and they are located close to motorway.
Guest accommodation
Guest houses
offer three to eight rooms, often en suite. Many offer dinner to guests.
Farm houses
offer bed and breakfast and sometimes dinner. They are situated in a farm.
Bad and breakfast
usually accommodate six people and they have suite bedrooms and private or shared bathrooms. Breakfast is always included in the price.
Inns
are pubs with rooms which serve food in the evenings.
