Software that isn't made for a specific task

What is integrated software?
It's a package of different software applications that allow data to be transferred from one application to another
Advantages
It is cheaper than buying seperately
It is easier to move data between application programs
The user interface is consistent
Disadvantage
They tend to have weak areas - may be better at processing than creating and manipulating spreadsheets
Data may not be easily transferred to programs that are not part of the package
They may include applications that the user will not use often or at all

Specific application software
What is specific application software?
It is designed to carry out a particular end-user task usually for a particular industry
It lacks the flexibility of generic software and is only capable of doing a single task

May have mistakes in code (untested) which wil cost money to correct
Not immediately available
Very limited overall back up and support - no books,etc
