The Bycicle
HEARING
SAYING
She learns about how the Rex Cinema was burned down from her parents, and she explains what she heard. The Rex Cinema was burned down with people inside. The police had locked the doors from the inside out, and forbid and attacked the citizens trying to help the civilians trying to save the ones trapped inside. There was about 400 victims, and the shah blamed it on religious fanatics, but really it was the shah's fault.
After Marjane asks to go to the next protest against the shah, her parents tell her what to think about the shah, and what is happening with her country.
"It is very dangerous. They shoot People!" - Marjane's Dad
THINKING
FEELING
SEEING
DOING
Since Marjane is young, she was denied to go to one of the protests, and she started to cry. I really liked the last image, when she was crying and saying something like god where are you.
"God, where are you?"
She asks her parents if she can go to the next protest against the government, but her parents will not let her.
She learns about the revolutionaries of her country, as well as many other history lessons. Some examples would be Iranian revolutionaries, Fidel Castro, and the children of Palestine
"You are too young"
In the beginning of the chapter, Mariane mentions that she wanted to be Che Guevara.
