To investigate how children of different age groups respond to tutoring when they had a problem to solve.
Participants

3 even groups of 3, 4, 5 y.o; even gender split

Procedure
Child seated at table with blocks, had 5 mins to play w/o instructions
Tutor would use as many standardized instructions as possible to show how to put pair of blocks tgt; ask child to mimic

Tutor let child do it on their own, demonstrated when needed

Youngest needed most help, with tutor showing them how to complete task > verbal instruction
Also most likely to go off task, needed to be motivated
Showing success rate: 40%, 63%, 80%; telling: 18%, 40%, 57%
