Nathan: George doesn't even take the time to get to know Curley's Wife. He just automatically assumes that she is jail bait and a tart, and that that is all she is, nothing else. In actuality, she is just trying to get attention to talk and not be lonely.
Nathan: Also, the fact that no one in the book even questions the fact that she is given no name shows that she is treated like property, that she is possessed by men only and that she is a symbol of power for Curley.
