TSOL sells a number of products. In additional to t-shirts, tote bags, and the usual swag, they sell products that I am tempted to call games. This includes an Untranslatable Words Card Set, which collects words from other languages that express something ineffable to an English speaker, but does not give a pronunciation key for these words. There is also the Who Should I Be With? Card Game—each card presents a quality of a potential partner, like "very confident on the dance floor" or "obsessed with their mother," and give pluses and minuses for each. These products are twee in a very particular way, and it makes me wonder whether the people behind the scenes at TSOL know whether they want their work to be taken seriously.
