After Marjane's dad mentioning pilots being taken prisoners as well as when the news announced that many Iranian planes were shot down, Marjane immediately things of Pardisse's father, who is a pilot. When Marjane approaches Pardisse at school by saying, "Hey! Pardisse", she can immediately tell that her father died.
Feeling
Vengeful
Of the many emotions that Marjane felt while she was listening to the radio with her parents, one of them was vengeance. Her feeling of revenge was partially notable when she said, "We have to bomb Baghdad!", after the Iraqis bombed Iran.
Pity
Marjane showed a lot of pity during "F-14s". She showed most of this pity towards her classmate, Pardisse, who's father was killed.
F-14s The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft. The Tomcat was developed for the United States Navy's Naval Fighter Experimental program.
