Top Tools for Fifth Grade

What is this presentation about?

How are these tools used in the classroom?

How I will use these tools in the future?

This purpose of this presentation is to introduce and analyze the technology used within our classroom. The top tools used in our classroom are PlayPosit, Screencast-o-matic, Google Forms, and Prezi. We use these tools because they provide meaningful and purposeful integration of technology for our students that allow them to develop the necessary academic and 21st-century skills.

I will use these four tools in the future to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity in each and every one of my students. All four of these tools are meaningful and purposeful uses of technology and allow students to practice the necessary 21st-century skills needed to thrive in this technological age. I will use these tools to ensure that students are engaged in learning so that they reach the optimal outcomes of being in my classroom. I will also use these tools to differentiate and personalize to the individual students, recognizing that children all learn at their own pace.

Screencast-o-matic is used to create how -to videos for anyone by anyone. This tool allows the person creating, who has expertise on how to do a certain thing, show others how to do it as well. This tool promotes learning by peers and allows those who are learning for a tutorial that they can continue to go back to if they are stuck.

PlayPosit is used to promote discussions and critical thinking while students are engaging in a lesson. Students can have a discussion on topics that we are learning from videos they have created on their own or prompts/videos I have provided for them. PlayPosit is a great way to assess students while they are engaged, thus creating an environment where assessment is ideal.

Prezi is used to create creative and unique presentations to display knowledge on a certain topic. Prezi is used by teachers to present their lessons in a more engaging way than just a slideshow.

Google Forms can be used in a variety of ways in the classroom, the options are endless! It can be a great assessment tool to test students' knowledge and give students the opportunity to reflect on their learning. Google Forms give immediate feedback of students' results and responses that are clear and easy to follow for teachers.

Here is a video explaining one of the many benefits of PlayPosit use in a classroom.Click below to assess it.
