Making a perfect serve in Volleyball
The function of serving
To score a point
To put the ball in play
The rules of serving
The player cannot touch the base line until after contact with the ball
The player has a limited time to serve
Once the ball has been thrown up to serve any contact the player makes with the ball as it comes down is considered a serve
This includes accidentally dropping the ball on your foot
The ball cannot go outside of or touch the antennas
The ball may touch the net but must end up on the opposing teams side for the ball to be considered in play
The ball must be touched by a player on the opposing side to be put in play or make contact with the inside court to score a point
What is needed to serve
The right height
The right speed
The right force
The right distance
The right position: where it starts and ends up and is hit
The right angle
The math used in serving
Equations of a tangent line
F(x) = x^2 + 1
m = f'(x)
m = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1
Velocity
Velocity = distance / time
Force
Force = mass(acceleration)
Newton's 2nd Law
This law says that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the force and inversely proportional to the mass of the object. The equation for this law is expressed as F=ma.
Parabolas
y = 2(x - h) + k
