Causes Of The French Revolution
Peasants and the bourgeoisie upset because they had to pay all the taxes.
Nobles refused to make taxes equal under the law.
Debt built up when the king helped out financially with the American Revolution.
France was a absolute monarchy
King Louis XVI was a poor decision maker and could not decide what to do in the important situations.
He was also strongly influenced by his wife Marie Antoinette and both of them cared more about personal interests over the political interests.
Unfair Social Classes
Only the first and second estate have a vote that counts, the third estate and bourgeoisie's vote didn't count for much.
Unfair because most people were in the third estate.
People were storming the villages stealing the last of the bread that was left to feed there family.
A lot of the crops were dying which resulted in a downfall of wheat and food overall.
Due to the crops dying the farmers became very poor because they didn't have anything to sell.
