A classroom can be an incredible place which caters for learning of all types; however, if the classroom itself is not physically accessible for all learners, particularly those with special needs, the resources within the classroom are irrelevant. For example, a student who uses a wheelchair will need the assistance of an elevator if his/her classroom is on an upper floor of the school. Without this, the classroom would be unaccessible for this student (Bartlett & Burton, 2012).
