Habitat Loss
Habitat Fragmentation
When a habitat is broken into multiple parts/separated from one another, so biodiversity is less prevalent.
Alien/Invasive Species
Alien and Invasive Species have no natural predators, and so they are allowed to over-populate and destroy ecosystems by killing off species inside of it.
Overpopulation
Lack of resources (food, water, building materials, energy, etc.), lack of space, etc.
Overexploitation
The over-use of resources in the environment. This includes anything from over-logging to over-fishing to over-hunting.
This can cause a lack of resources available to humans, as well as cause natural destruction consequences as well (ex: floods from erosion)
Chemical Pollution
Biomagnification
The idea that as an organism eats other organisms that are poisoned, the poison concentration level increases from trophic level to trophic level.
Climate Change
Heating of oceans (release of carbon dioxide into atmosphere, making things worse), heating of earth's surface, heat-related disease, drought, and flooding (glaciers melting and oceans expanding)
