Nervous System
Specialized Tissue
-
Consists of nerves made up of nerve cells called neurons. These neurons are found all over the body.
-
Muscle Tissue is tissue responsible for movement (skeletal, Smooth, cardiac)
Epithelial Tissue is protective tissue also know as skin, it protects from dehydration and physical damage.
Connective Tissue is the most widespread tissue thats supports the body and holds everything together; includes fat, cartilage, bones, tendons, and blood.
The Muscular, Epithelial, and Connective Tissue all relate to the Nervous System due to the neuromuscular junction. This junction transmits signals using nerves to all the other parts of the body giving these tissue certain commands

Facts
As we grow older, the brain loses a gram each year
-
The right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, & the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body
-
-
-
If all the neurons in our body were lined up, it would be around 965 km long
Organs
Spinal Cord
The cylindrical bundle of nerve fibers and is enclosed in the spine and connects nearly all parts of the body to the brain, with which it forms the central nervous system.
Nerves
Transmits impulses to the brain or spinal cord, and impulses from these to the muscles and organs.
Brain
An organ contained in the skull, functioning as the coordinating center of sensation and intellectual and nervous activity.
