Standardisation
What is?
The set of standards that regulates every element of technical drawing (formats, lettering, dimensioning and symbols)
Purpose
The purpose of standardisation is to draw up a series of technical specifications (standards) that companies can choose to follow as a benchmark
Measuring lengths:
We have to include the real measurements of the object that we are representing. We need to now how to change frim one unit to another
Dimensioning
What is?
To dimensioning a figure we indicate on the drawing representing it (views or perspective) the actual measurements that are needed to define it.
Elements
Dimension lines.
They are lines that indicate measurements and are drawn parallel to the line that they measure.
-
Dimension line end points (arrowheads, dots or lines)
If there is space, 15° arrowheads are added to the ends; otherwise, 45° lines or dots are used
Numbers
These should be standardised and expressed in mm (if another unit is used, it must be indicated).
Dimensioning standards
Chain
Parallel
Lines
Each type of line has a different function in a drawing, so we need to know how to interpret it
Views
Representing objects in the dihedral system. Views
The most common system for representing objects and figures is the dihedral projection system
