Year Overview
Maybe we push the musical to December and do some mini-skit nights in August/September, followed by auditions and rehearsals in October and November??
Summer Camps?
Rodgers & Hammerstein
Sound of Music GTK
Good Cast: 17 named, 4 ensemble
Could be included as an incentive for the AGC, too. Give at the $500+ level and get one camp free??
Three-hour sessions
Costs: $28/hour for rental over the summer. A three-hour session for three days would cost us $252. We would need to charge $13 and get 20 kids to break even. If we charge $30 per kiddo, we'd only need 9 kids. At $30, if we took 20 kids (easy to manage), we could profit $348.
If we took 25 kids per session, the total profit could be $1494.
One-hour sessions for three days
The goals would be to raise a little money for the program; get kids working on some actual acting activities; and identify potential cast members (or weed out problem kiddos).
If we lower the K-2 session to one hours for three days (which seems more reasonable for them), the profit changes to $572 for this group.
If we did that for three grade-groups, we could make $1044.
Open each day with some fun acting exercises. On day one, have kids pick a script (15-minutes in length) (maybe in small groups for the older kids), and begin learning it. On day two, following quick activities, keep practicing skit. On day three, one last rehearsal session, followed by a quick performance for parents at end.
Scale with session length. One-hour sessions as described. Two- and three-hour sessions could be a 30-minute skit, but with more acting activities.
