Doyle Brunson Introduction Tips
Poker is a game of people
really understand your opponents
what his check, bet or raise really means
what hand he is likely to be playing
what makes him tick at the moment you´re involved in a pot with him
judge your opponent all the time
poker is more complex than any other game
watch and listen
listen to what your opponent says
watch what he is doing independently of what he says
It´s very, very difficult for any man to conceal his character
a man´s true feelings come out in a Poker game
A Poker game can be used as a test of character
what kind of temperament he´s got
how well he can take disappointment
not everybody you´re going to play against thinks the way you do
almost everyone wants to win, but they expect to win in different ways
play aggressively to win
"tight" is different from "solid"
tight means conservative
solid is a player who is tight about entering a pot in the first place... but after he enters the pot he becomes agressive
timid players don´t win in high stakes poker
don´t make the mistake of assuming that your opponent is going to play the same way every time
it´s not safe to bluff a player anxious to get into action
