this worried the usa because they had a long economic history with cuba and owned almost of half of its land.
the usa felt it had the right to get involved in Cuban affairs but Cubans had grown resent o the American influence
Eisenhower was unhappy and believed castro was moving towards communism so he threaterned to stop sugar trade with America and the usa was sure that Catro would back down.
