Postmodern Feminists tend to reject the claim that there is a single theory to explain the position of women in society, they tend to deny that there is one single concept of women that represents black women, lesbian women, white middle class women.
Abbott, Wallace and Taylor argue that inequality varies and is dependent on a variety of characteristics so there can be no single theory. Instead, they believe that the interests of women in general can be pursued through things such as language to improve job opportunities, therefore, freeing women from biological constraints.
Rosemarie Tong is among those who are generally supportive of postmodern feminist, she argues this theory encourages awareness and an acceptable of differences.
