Human intelligence
Normal people cannot see the talents from animals. Grandin states,
"Normal people can stare straight at an animal doing something brilliant and have no idea what they're seeing.
This quote illustrates that normal people does not have the ability to see the real meaning of what the animal is doing.
Also, normal people are different from autistic people because normal people does not know much about animal behaviorism.
Autistic savants are people who can calculate in specific things but in need with practice. Grandin states,
"They usually have high IQs mentally retarded range, though not always, yet they can naturally do things no human being can even be taught to do, no matter how hard he tries to learn or how much time he spends practicing" (Grandin pg. 7).
-
Also, autistic savants are gifted with greate intelligence that requires practice.
Overall, the human intelligence has a big division between autistic people and normal people.
Animal Intelligence
Animals can have the intelligence to help people in need. Grandin states,
"we have service dogs for the blind- how about service dog's for the middle-aged whose memories are going" (Grandin 8).
-
Also, animal's intelligence could be good for more complicated things that can help us.
Animals are like autistic savants. Grandin states,
"Animals have special talents normal people don't, the same way autistic people have special talents normal people don't; and at least some animals have special forms of genius normal people don't, the same way some autistic savants have special forms of genius" (Grandin 8).
The quote illustrates, animals are not dumb as we think they are.
Also, animals can be genius by practicing such as autistic savants.
Overall, animal's are genius in things that we cannot do. Normal people think that animals do not have the intelligence as normal people.
