Non-violent
This is where we were trying to give african americans the ability to vote Mississippi. People who were supports of this were often taunted and abused from the people who didn't like the way they were doing this.
Freedom Rides
These people rode buses in the southern US. This helped to inspire the civil rights movement. This ended segregation on public buses, trains etc.all through the nations.

Birmingham Riots
These Riots only lasted 8 days. All of the riots happened in Birmingham Alabama. People were protesting for equal rights as the whites. They were often beaten with fire hose and dogs were attacking these people.

Selma March
This march lasted 3 days, Marchers were met with violent resistance from local and state authorities. But the end goal the marchers got what they wanted.

Little Rock Nine
9 african americans went to a high school that was for only whites. These 9 people were having to be escorted to the school. 7 of these 9 african americans graduated from the high school.

Rosa Parks
This african american women refused to give up her seat on a city bus. This started a nation wide boycott. and later ended segregation in all pubic places.

Sit ins
The most common sit in happened in Greensboro with 4 african american college kids. They started taking place February 1st.
