Lecture 6 (Intervention)
Interventions target the area of weakness in the company in question. Whether the company is in a downward spiral and needs to be saved, or moderately successful and trying to reach the next level.
Upstream does not treat problems after they occur but rather are designed to prevent undesired outcomes before they occur, targets social norms, they are likely to succeed in disrupting unsavory/unwanted habits. (e.g. establishing portion sizes for packaged foods, improving availability and efficiency of bus networks)

Downstream is targeted at individuals providing informational inputs to educate, persuade & motivate.

Thus, whereas downstream interventions aim to alleviate existing negative outcomes, upstream interventions aim to prevent such outcomes in the first place.
