Definitions
Ethical relativism, claims that morality is context-dependent and subjective, no universal right and wrong that can be rationally determined
Ethical absolutism, claims that there are eternal, universally applicable moral principles, right and wrong can be rationally determined
Postmodern ethics, locates morality beyond the sphere of rationality in an emotional 'moral impulse' towards others. It encourages one to question everyday practices and rules, and to listen to one's emotions, inner convictions, and 'gut feelings' about what is right and wrong
Virtue ethics the main message is that 'good actions come from good people'. where good persons are defined in terms of certain traits (virtues). Intellectual virtues (wisdom), moral virtues (honesty, courage, friendship, loyalty)
Feminist ethics prioritizes empathy, harmonious and healthy social relationships, care for one another and avoidance of harm
Discourse ethics, aims to solve ethical conflicts by proving a process of norm generation through the reflection on the real life experience of all relevant participants
