- - - - This shows that Cassio is liked by the other characters in the play still despite his drunken outburst which highlights to the audience that he is a good person and also that he is desperate to get his position back in the military too.
    - - Cassio says this to Bianca as an order. It demonstrates that he also takes n the domineering role of men that matched societies role at the time.
  - - - Cassio can be seen to be manipulated by Iago in order to trick Othello. Also we can see that Cassio looks down upon Bianca because of her status in society which arguably reenforces how reputation and class is important to him.
  - - - Repetition of reputation to show the importance of it to Cassio and men of the period.
      - Even after death the rank you held in the military lives on as people will remember you because of it hence Cassio referring to it as an 'immortal part of myself' .
      - Reputation, especially in military is deemed as important to men as you work up through military ranks and within society, you are looked highly upon if you are of a high rank such as lieutenant or general etc.
    - - Shows that Cassio is a lightweight which confirms that Iago's previously mentioned plan of getting Cassio drunk will work. It also shows how he can be easily manipulated into drinking as he knows he cannot handle it but chooses to drink anyway under minimal peer pressure.
    - - Cassio referring to his heritage as a Florentine that has made him confident.
      - Cassio contributes to Iago's anger at Cassio being a high class than him by referring to his heritage and taunting him about his inferior status too.
  - - - Iago has just stabbed Cassio in the back of the leg as Rodrigo failed to kill him, Iagos plan is in full flow and Cassio has been wounded because of this. At this point it is unclear wether he will die.
    - - Cassio pleads his innocence by saying to Othello that he found the handkerchief and was not given it by Desdemona. It is clear to Othello now that he was tricked.
    - - Said by Ludovico who announces that Cassio will become the general in Cyprus to replace Othello. Cassio has managed to regain his place in the military and therefore regained his reputation.
  - - - We can see through this that Iago thinks little of Iago's military skill as he has never actually fought unlike Iago himself. This is the first impression we get of Cassio and it doesn't present him in the best light .
- - - - "oh beware of jealousy my lord it is the green eyed monster which doth mock." Iago supposedly 'warns' othello that jealousy is destructive. Jealousy will destroy the heart of a man who loves, however the reason for jealousy doesn't exist. By saying this isgo forces othello to overthink and doubt whilst creating an element of trust and friendship between him and othello giving a more fool proof plan. By being a supportive figure othello will listen and respect the view of iago, which is disastrous.
        
        "The moor already changed with my poison" iago displays the power of jealousy and also his manipulation. Iago confesses he is the poison behind othello mind. "She did deceive her father in marrying you" iago evidently wants to plant suspicion in othello mind whilst acting like the faithful supportive friend. He suggests a woman who deceives her father is most definitely going to deceive her husband too. Instead of othello seeing desdenonas commitment to him as a sign of love and loyalty he sees it as a sign of inferdity or deceiving ness.
    - - "I am about it, but indeed my invention comes from my pate as birdlime does my frieze." " if I can fasten but one cup upon him with that which he hath drunk tonight already, he'll be as full of quarrel and offense as my young mistress' dog."
    - - " an old black ram is tupping your white ewe." Iago cleverly plays on the mind of all characters to ensure his plan isn't ruptured. He uses animalistic imagery to and the theme of race to produce strong emotion from desdemonas father by creating hate towards him from all who know him. This is evidence to prove imago as bittter and manipulative.
        
        "And will as tenderly led by the nose as asses are. Hell and night must bring this monstrous birth to the worlds light" it's audience being to see Iagos manipulative nature here. Using othello gullible nature to his advantage, Iago intends to make a trap that he'll fall into or "lead him by the nose". Iago will plant the seed of jealousy in othello mind and watch his own evil plan come to light.
