Statistics/Data Analysis
Line Plots
-gather your data
-draw a horizontal line
-mark the numbers under the line
-every time the data occurs mark an "x" above the number
CENTRAL TENDENCY
MEDIAN
If the numbers are, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 23, 26, the Median is 15 because if there are two middle numbers you average them and get 15.

MODE
The mode is the most common number
You use mode when the data have many repeated numbers
MEAN
Add all of the Numbers up. Then divide the sum by two
you use mean when the data have no extreme values
Histograms
a Histogram is a visual way to display frequency data using bars.
You use histograms to record continuous data
Box Plot
~First you find the mean ~ Then you draw a line over the number on the number line ~Then you find the mean for the lower quartile ~Then repeat step two ~ Find the mean for the upper quartile ~ Repeat step two ~Connect the lines ~ Find the highest and lowest number ~ Put a dot over the numbers ~Connect the dots with a line to the box
