Tuesday:
Bennet realizes Moses, Gloria, and Clemet have ran away
In the future, Gloria and Clement will not be found.
"It would be late that day, after Skiffington had come and gone, that anyone would notice Gloria and Clement were not about. They would be seen again." (Jones 335)
Wednesday:
In 1853, Hillard, Hope's husband, would save $53 to buy Augustus and forever says goodbye to Darcy and Stennis.
In the future, Augustus would try to walk away leading him to get shot in the shoulder resulting in his death.
"Augustus lowered his head and fell to the ground." (Jones 345)
Thursday:
Skiffington's patrollers continue their search to find Gloria, Clement, and Moses- even using dogs, but no such luck.
In the future, Moses's can face serious consequences if found.
"He had been berating Counsel and the patrollers all week, and he had them all out most of the days and the nights to search for the man he began calling the murdering runaway." (Jones 347)
Friday:
Caldonia begins to consider insurance on her slaves using "Aetlas" an ionic mistake. .
In the future, it seems as if Caldonia is worried about more slaves running away- leaving her without profit.
"Topps told her that for 15 cents a head every two months, her property, each working slave over five years old, would be protected from just about everything God could think up..." (Jones 355)
Saturday:
Maude ironically leaves after giving her two cents on what insurance Caledonia should use; while the rest of the guest enjoy the remainder of their stay.
In the future, Caledonia will pursue the 15 cents per head every two insurance to ensure she receives a profit when her property escapes.
"..But Caldonia decided to stay with just the 15 cents policies "for a now." (Jones 356)
Sunday:
Elias and Louis begin their search for the missing slaves- Gloria, Clement, and Moses.
In the future, Moses would be found, but his punishment remains unknown. Death, perhaps?
"Only the former overseer would be found." (Jones 357)
