Financial Enterprise
these are private businesses set up with the purpose of making a profit
eg: shops, restaurants,
benefits of financial enterprise:
creates employment
pay taxes
provides goods and services to customers and buisnesses
contributes to economic growthwhich raises the standard of living
they sometimes support local charities
Social Enterprise
social enterprises are
businesses that are involved in tackling social, economic and enviromental issues
social enterprises can be for -profit or not-for-profit. These
use any extra profit to achieve social objectives
e.g. GIY (grow it yourself) which encourages people to grow their own fruit/veg to become more self-suffiecent
benefits of social enterprise
raises awareness of social issues
brings about social change
provides services that are not currently provided by the government
creates employment
Cultural Enterprise
cultural enterprises are buisnesses that promote culture and the arts
although these buisnesses make a profit it is not their main aim
e.g. GAA clubs support the Irish culture though it is not their main aim
benefits of cultural enterprise:
gives people access to arts and culture
creates employment
brings revenue into the country, eg via tourism
promotes traditional culture
Entrepeneurs
this is someone who takes personal and financial risk to set up a business with he hope of making a profit
they might have an
idea for a new product /service
they might identify a
product /service that is not available in their area
they might be able to
provide a product or service at a lower price

these are
special qualities and abilities we are born with
e.g. creative/innovative, a calculated risk taker, confident,resislent, hard working,deceisive
Skills
they are abilities that you can learn over time/
e.g. planning, time management, communication, problem solving, identifing opportunitys, stress management, manage risk, human relations, making decesions
