Major characteristic: lack of insight, patients denial of being ill, thus, aggression towards therapies and medication

Treatment
Neuroleptics (effective only for positive symptoms; do not improve negative symptoms and social functioning)
Worsening negative symptoms; leaving permanent side effects: tardive dyskinesia, orofacial movement, etc.
Targeting dopamine overactivity in mesolimbic pathway, and underactivity in mesocortical pathway
