Deity
Nature of God
Omni-scient
Meaning all-knowing, one of the Natures of God, he is believed (by Christians) to be all of the 'omni's'
-
-
Omni-potent
Meaning all-powerful, God has so much power and can control anything. he has so much power that (to Christians) He created life and the universe, God is more powerful than anything else we could possibly imagine for example God created the world 'ex nihilo' - from nothing however there is no evidence for this
"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeliness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the Earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground'" - Genesis 1:26
-
Transcendent
Meaning God is above all/beyond the universe, a transcendent God doesn't act in human history, past, present and future
Christians believe that God is eternal and that he will judge everyone but created the universe for a purpose
Omni-present
Meaning all-present (everywhere at the same time), the 'omni's' can be used to describe God. To describe God with human or animal-like characteristics is known as ANTHROPROMORPHISM
-
Immanence
Meaning God is within all/within the universe. An immanent God acts in human history, past, present and future
"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." - John 4:12
Omni-benevolent
Meaning God is all-loving, this is often contradicted as how can God be all loving and let war and famine rage and plague the lives of the innocent? Known as the Problem of Evil
-
Trinity
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
-
God who is the Son - Jesus who is the immanent and personal, who came to Earth and lived a human life
God who is the Holy Spirit - immanent, but impersonal, the way God inspires and guides Christians every day
Christians believe that God is the creator of everything, the ground of our being (the First Cause). The same God who is written about in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The Fall
-
After Eve was tricked by the serpent she ate the fruit from the Forbidden Tree and then took it to Adam who also ate it. The world was then no longer perfect and Adam and Eve hid until God called them and banished from the Garden of Eden. God then found the serpent that tricked Eve and he cursed the serpent to have no legs and to slide along its belly for the rest of eternity
Original Sin - the first sin created by Adam and Eve which was carried down through the generations and so all humans have a sinful nature
