HOW IS MEMORY OF THE BRAIN AFFECT ON LEARNING
The three memory systems that involved
SHORT-TERM MEMORY
Also known as working memory
Located at frontal lobe
capacity for temporarily storing and manipulating information needed to carry out cognitive tasks
Involved in processing, storing, and retrieving data from long-term memory.
The capacity is more limited
Baesd on research, it can store up to nine items for a short amount of time
LONG-TERM MEMORY
Explicit Memory
Also known as declarative memory
It is memory of facts and events
It can be describe in words
Example: birthday, what you ate this this morning
Can be divided into two: Episodic memory & semantic memory
Implicit Memory
Also known as non-declarative memory or procedural memory
Express by means of other than words such as the use of objects or movements of the body
the unconscious memory of skills and how to do things
Example: tying a shoelace, riding a bike
SENSORY MEMORY
The shortest-term element of memory
The ability to retain impressions of sensory information after the original stimuli have ended
It can lasts such a short time like two second
It is an essential step for storing information in short-term memory
