A condition that can develop during pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure (hypertension) and protein in the urine (proteinuria).
RISK FACTORS
Women younger that 20 with 1st pregnancy
Advanced maternal age with multiple pregnancies
African-Americans
Chronic Hypertension
Diabetes
Renal Disease
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
Edema of face, ankles and hands
Gradual onset of hypertension
Protein in urine
Severe Headache
Nausea
Vomiting
Rapid weight gain
Agitation
Visual Disturbances
ECLAMPSIA
Symptoms-
Seizures caused by hypertension
swelling in hands and face
Headaches
Excessive weight gain
Nausea
Vomiting
